Beneficiaries

ITTA (Institut Tunisien de Technologies Appropriees pour un Developpement Durable/The Tunisian Institute of appropriate Technologies for sustainable developments)
The ITTA is an intermediate between disfavored rural societies and the appropriate applicableand scientific technologies for the process of sustainable ecological development.

ITTA Projects:

1 - " ZERO DECHETI Zero waste": Launched and active.
The Goal of this project is to implement an alternative cleansing system for solid and waterwaste in the rural areas. This cleansing system recycles waste into an organic energy resource. Benefits of implementing this system in the rural societies are the following: • The alternative to firewood becomes biogas generated from the recycling of the waste.

Thus avoiding the exposure of C02 fumes caused by rural women burning firewood for heating.

  • The alternative to gas tanks becomes biogas. Thus enabling rural families to save from the expenditure of gas tanks.
  • Collecting and transporting the firewood is eliminated. Thus reducing the burden and hardship of rural women collecting and carrying the firewood.
  • Protection against deforestation and uprooting the biodiversity of wild plants.

2 - "ALMAE" (Alliance Maghreb Machrek Pour L'Eau / The North African Middle Eastern Alliance for water): Launching date October 2009.
